The
charter school was founded in 2000 as an alternative to
traditional public schools. Today's schools tend to be
large and somewhat chaotic due to their populations and
the problems of navigating changing classes. The
Bradenton Charter School is a small school. It offers an
intimate setting for students, and without sacrificing
standards, focuses on the fundamentals of academics. If
you're looking for a place that promotes the academic
and personal achievements of its students, you may want
to schedule an appointment and tour the school.
Who are the students?
Students come from all over
the Manatee district and are from “all walks of life.”
The school is an exceptionally good placement for
children who are not reaching their full potential or
who are less willing or proficient at handling the
stresses of today’s classes.

Our students tend to be those who do better in smaller
classes and who thrive in a smaller educational setting
where they are not just numbers.
Many parents are dissatisfied with traditional schools
and find us after looking for an alternative placement
for their children.
The school is looking for children who can benefit from
its environment. The school has high expectations for
students and staff and requires that parents support the
school's mission to provide a quality education for
everyone.

Our Curriculum
The school's curriculum
teaches content, skills and thinking processes through
an exploration of the connections
among
disciplines (Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies,
etc.). In other words, teachers and students attack
subjects from various angles and use varied methods to
understand them.
Students develop skills necessary for academic and
personal development through:
● Our Expanding World – a program to teach students
about elements of our state, nation and the world's
peoples, cultures and geography;
● “Readers for Life” - a focus on literature from a
variety of genres; and
● Daily use of prescribed skills-based lessons
.
Our Team
The school uses a
team approach to working with students. Teacher and
teacher assistants work together and students are
presented with challenging on-grade-level work, and
wherever necessary, are given supports and services.
